Inspiration

Published in 1970, Fantastic Mr. Fox was inspired by a particular tree near Roald Dahl's house in Great Missenden, a village in Buckinghamshire, UK. During the making of the film version of Fantastic Mr. Fox, Wes Anderson returned to the Great Missenden countryside, staying with Roald's widow Felicity "Liccy" Dahl while he wrote the screenplay.
